Yeah, I like those announcements, although it still took me a few days to realise what the stop I wanted to get off was called; I actually used Google Maps on my phone to track the bus journey the first couple of times, so I knew when I was getting close. I have way too much anxiety about these things!

Cycling in London seems brilliant in theory and *terrifying* in practice!

(most) buses have announcements telling you which stop is which now, which really helps with the OMG I'VE MISSED MY STOP AND I DON'T KNOW WHERE I AM thing.

you're a brave lady if you're planning on trying a boris bike - i absolutely loathe them, though this is probably because i usually ride my own and riding a boris just reminds me how lovely, light and nippy mine is. i still take them if i need to get into town on days that i've left mine at home though.

I'm a fan of extreme horror, admittedly, so maybe I'm biased, but the BBFC's decision doesn't sit well with me. Granted, I'm still new to Britain and am still learning about its laws, but so far in researching them, I haven't found a single thing that explains why "Full Sequence" is banned but "A Serbian Film" wasn't... nor was "Antichrist", nor "Martyrs", nor the "August Underground" films. While the reported events of "Full Sequence" are gruesome and disturbing, they're still rather absurd and mostly impossible, whereas the sexually violent acts in these other movies are quite realistic in places. Honestly, I suspect that the reason "Full Sequence" is being banned is because the BBFC are disgusted by its premise, not because of what it actually contains.

>I don’t trust people who specifically seek out, download, and then actually play games on their phones on a regular basis; that’s just weird

On a 2001-era phone, maybe - but iOS is the predominant mobile gaming platform at the moment! I've bought more games - and "proper", actual games, the likes of Football Manager, Monkey Island (1&2), DOOM, FIFA, Sim City, Sonic, Rock Band, GTA, Worms and loads more - for my iPhone than probably any other console/platform I've owned, except for the PC...
